The software models the influences of pressures on trap integrity and sealing capacity, reservoir quality and maturation, and migration efficiency in the petroleum system, providing significant insight for prospect evaluation and pre-drill analysis.

Integrate pressure data in a single screen.

Accurately calculating pore pressure requires integrating pressure data from many sources, and performing a complex series of calculations involving many intermediate volumes. With Permedia Pore Pressure software, calculate pore pressure from 3D seismic velocity data, integrate pore pressure data from multiple sources, or perform both operations in the same volume concurrently. Define regions in the data volume and apply different calibrations to each. View calculation results interactively. When changes are made, the views can be updated to reflect the new values, allowing an iterative workflow whereby any changes can be evaluated locally prior to recalculating the whole volume.

Unlock the potential of your reservoir.

Understanding the key economic factors related to a reservoir, such as its maximum potential, or, for a shale reservoir, its fracability, requires knowledge of a variety of key characteristics. Permedia Pore Pressure software features a finite-volume based, forward pressure and temperature simulator and a flexible earth model and rock property framework. Model basin pressure and temperature evolution using mathematical techniques familiar to basin and reservoir modelers. The resulting model describes the pressure and temperature evolution through time, providing key insights into the basin’s evolution. For traditional reservoirs, these include sandstone quality due to diagenesis, insights into compartmentalization, and fluid property distributions. For shale reservoirs, these include the petroleum distribution and maturity profile, in addition to shale characteristics such as brittleness and ductility.

Calculate pore pressure from wireline.

Accurate pore pressure prediction is critical for play analysis and minimizing drilling risk. However, no one pore pressure prediction technique is applicable in all areas, and a single study can use several. For regions with limited seismic control, such as sub-salt, wireline data can be used for 1D pore pressure prediction. Permedia Pore Pressure software integrates all types of basin and reservoir data and conducts well-based calculations. The software can take any well data as a starting point, augment it with data derived from curves, tables, volumes, and geocelullar models, and then use the combined dataset as input to calculators in user-defined scripts.

Build scripts and plugins to output pressure predictions using any number of techniques, from simple Eaton Ratio methods to more sophisticated effective-stress-based techniques. Then compare pressure predictions with pressures predicted by basin models, pressure seeding, or seismic velocity-based workflows.
